Who We Are:
The Coalition for Access Now is a 501c4 nonprofit organization led by families committed to educating the public and lawmakers on the health benefits associated with natural therapies derived from cannabis for chronic health conditions. As families whose children suffer from debilitating health issues and who have experienced firsthand the benefits of these treatments, we seek to raise awareness and encourage policies that would lead to greater access for those in need.
Our Coalition has one central mission: to empower families and give them access to hope NOW! This community is not only a network of support for parents, grandparents and caregivers, but it is also a resource for families aiming to make their voices heard by legislators on the local, state, and federal level on this critical issue.
The Coalition is a rallying point for families across the country who are facing the devastating choice between becoming “medical refugees” in order to access lifesaving treatments or watching their child’s health deteriorate before their very eyes.
What We Do:
In order to ensure that families everywhere have access to natural therapies and treatments, the Coalition:
1) Serves as a resource for information regarding the health benefits of industrial hemp oil.
2) Educates lawmakers on the local, state and federal level as they consider public policy on this issue.
3) Highlights the stories of thousands of American families seeking to access these natural therapies.
Hemp in the United States:
Currently, the United States is the largest importer of hemp in the world. Oddly enough, American farmers are restricted from accessing the American market the way that many industrialized countries currently do.
The advancement of industrial hemp and therapeutic hemp oils will not only provide safe access for many families, but will also serve to boost the American economy by utilizing our valuable agricultural resources and farmers. Due to the known general health benefits of hemp oils, the American dietary supplement industry is demanding regulated access to these valuable plant-derived products.
The medical research community has also been severely restricted in their attempts to access a natural therapy that has overwhelming anecdotal evidence supporting its benefits.
The Coalition is working hand-in-hand with legislators at every level of government to overcome these hurdles to not only provide access to hemp oil therapies for patients in need, but also to support medical research efforts that will rigorously investigate the many ways that hemp oil can be beneficial for people with chronic conditions.
